Sustainability

Tate Snyder Kimsey is committed to preserving our environment and to building a more sustainable world. This dedication moves beyond green architecture and is at the heart of our business practices. Tate Snyder Kimsey was recognized as one of the Top 10 Sustainable Firms in the nation by ARCHITECT magazine, a testament to our philosophy in action.

Tate Snyder Kimsey has been a leader in sustainable design for the last 15 years, long before LEED became an environmental design standard. It has always been our goal to incorporate environmental thoughtfulness and the intelligent use of appropriate materials into every project we design.

Our design studio in Henderson, originally constructed in 1994, became Nevada’s first LEED Certified project in 2006. Designed to respond to, and take advantage of, the harsh desert environment it was set in, the building required only minor upgrades to the fixtures, finishes, and mechanical equipment to for certification through the US Green Building Council’s LEED Existing Building [LEED-EB] program. The completely daylit space continues to serve as a showcase for the timelessness of environmentally conscious design.

The crafting of high performance buildings that embrace environmental sensitivity is the basis of our firm culture. We educate each of our clients on the virtues of this philosophy at the onset of every project journey. It is through these processes that our collaborative effort makes a lasting impression on the lives and environments surrounding us.
