Burke In The Box

McCARRAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – LAS VEGAS, NV

Tate Snyder Kimsey was commissioned to design the first, airport based, one-off restaurant for world renowned celebrity chef, David Burke.

The restaurant features an upscale interior dining and bar experience with the convenience of an “On the Fly” take-away counter. To match the fanciful nature of Chef Burke’s personality and innovative culinary style, the restaurant features a warm color palette with punches of vibrant orange and jack-in-the-box décor.

A fast-paced schedule for design and construction was identified as a necessity along with an opening date dictated by the Airport’s simultaneous completion of the new terminal (an expansion project also under the firm’s purview). Tate Snyder Kimsey overcame design challenges associated with an awkward and irregular tenant space to provide a distinctly organized location that patrons have described as “upscale, “whimsical”, and “vibrant”.
