Craig Ranch Maintenance Facility
NORTH LAS VEGAS, NEVADA
This will be the first built City of North Las Vegas project to realize the benefits of constructing a high performance building with energy efficiency and occupant health and comfort as primary considerations. As a strategy to maximize exposure to daylight and minimize direct solar gain, the building is oriented with its long axis to the east and west, with the majority of the glazing facing north and south. Large overhangs are intended to mitigate direct solar gain through the windows and high performance low-e insulated glazing is used throughout to reduce transmittance. The project achieved innovation points for daylight and views in 100% of the regularly occupied spaces, and over 40% potable water reduction through efficient fixtures.
