Congratulations to TSK Senior Designer Daniel Hidalgo for his recent election to the AIA Las Vegas Board of Directors! We sat down with Daniel to gain some understanding into his excitement for his election and his vision for his contributions to the architecture community in Las Vegas.

 

1. What inspired you to seek this position/how did you achieve it?

"I’ve always had a strong passion for mentoring and supporting the growth of younger professionals in the field of architecture. The role of Director of Emerging Professionals / Young Architects Forum felt like the perfect opportunity to do just that. It allows me to make a meaningful impact by guiding the next generation of architects."

2. How does this new role align with your personal and professional goals?

"I firmly believe that effective communication is vital in architecture. In this role, I plan to connect with young professionals to understand their needs and aspirations from the AIA, and work to ensure those needs are met. By empowering emerging professionals, we’re strengthening the future of our entire field."

3. What are you most excited about contributing to the board?

"I’m most excited to bring a fresh perspective. During our recent 5-year strategic planning session, a director who had been part of the previous one noted that this is the most diverse board AIA Las Vegas has ever had. It’s energizing to be part of shaping the direction our local AIA chapter will take in the coming years."

4. What skills, experiences, or values do you bring from your role at TSK/MOREgroup that will benefit the board?

"At TSK, we’re deeply committed to our community and constantly look for ways to improve their daily lives. I share this commitment to the architecture community here in Las Vegas, and I’m eager to contribute to guiding our AIA chapter in a direction that truly benefits our local professionals."
