PROGRESS CONTINUES AT WCSD O’BRIEN MIDDLE SCHOOL WITH RIBBON CUTTING AND FIRST CLASSES.

Washoe County School District’s O’Brien Middle School Reconstruction has reached the midpoint of construction with the opening of the new school and the start of instruction. The next phase of construction will include the abatement and demolition of the old O’Brien Middle School and construction of new athletic fields and shared park space.  Construction will be completed Spring 2023.

The October 1st , 2022 Ribbon Cutting which was attended by over three hundred guests featured presentations by WCSD Superintendent Dr. Susan Enfield, Board of Trustees President Dr. Angie Taylor, Principal Melynda Baker, Trustee Joe Rodriguez and thanks from Kevin Kemner, TSK and Travis Coombs, CORE Construction. Classes in the new school began on August 15th, with over 1100 students.  To celebrate the opening of the school, TSK donated custom notebooks for each student, staff, and teacher commemorating the event.
